So I'm debating if the cover for Psionics Expanded should be changed.

Here is the current cover.

I'm debating replacing that with 3-4 of the graphics from the classes - i.e. the Blue aegis, the Elan cryptic, etc. In a way that resembles the Psionics Unleashed cover.

I'm wondering what folks think about that.

Is it fine as-is?
Should it be changed to the classes?

From an art aesthetic point of view, I like the current cover better than the PsUn cover. I prefer the simplicity, and the overall "balance" of the current version.

From a product line continuity point of view, I can see why keeping the cover design similar to PsUn would be a good thing.

What I really want though, is a cover with a couple of these "iconics" battling it out with some psionic baddie or three. Like pretty near every Paizo cover out there. Smile

I liked the PU cover, so I'd like PE cover to have a similar look.

Not a fan of the Japanese characters on her legs. There are a lot of people who run screaming the other way when they see anything Japan related (I'm not one of them, btw); would hate to lose those people as customers.

I concur - the iconics seem a much better choice

The lady on the front looks great as a tiny icon; not so great close up.

On the other hand, I LOVE the blue aegis and the elan cryptic. The tactician has pretty cool art. Dread art and vitalist art are about equal. Not a fan of the marksman art.

While the pictures itself is fine, I doesn't inspire me to buy the book.

I think a cover art should be cool, so that people pick up the book or think: "Cool! I want my char to look like that / do what they do!"

Unfortunately the current image doesn't do that.

Here is a list of images I think would be better suited for the cover:
Base Classes "head image" pg 27
Cryptic on pg 69
"Display" pg 75
"Feats" pg 103
Metamorph 195

All these images show some iconic information from this book and have a certain "cool factor".

But putting some base class images (esp. the Blue Ageis and the Tactican) on the cover would also be cool.

13 to change it
0 to leave it

I'd say that pretty much says it all.
