Well, perhaps I can come up with some other form of item that will give me what I want (ie the ability to essentially "dial into" a Worldthought Network).

Oh, sorry, A_a. I totally misunderstood the reason that you were asking. You want an item that lets a character dialinto an already existing network of someone else's making. That doesn't change the first one, but it does get me a bit of perspective. I'm still open to suggestions if a reasonable corollary can be made.

It would be like a Mindlink to a Network instead of a single individual, yes?
Seems like a candidate to power research then (either a new power or a new augment to the mindlink power).
If the power exists (already or by research), making an item out of it would be easy I think (rule-wise at least).

Shahab did say he was trying to find out where the natives went, so I don't know why Kess wouldn't think he's looking for tracks (rather than 'walking around staring at he ground'). After all, it's not like this is the first time he's used his tracking abilities.

Fenris,
A quick search of the SRD reveals no such item. Secondly, looking through Complete Adventurer which gives us the spell Branch to Branch along with the feat Brachiation also comes up with nothing. Finally, i checked Magic Item Compendium and that too does not have your Bracers.
So the question is: dude, what are you smoking? perhaps this item is so common in your games that you just assumed it's in the DMG?

Perhaps Fenris is thinking of 2nd Edition AD&D as they were a magic item in the DMG then. The only reference I found to them in 3rd Edition was in this article: www.wizards.com/defaul.../20050118a

Fine give me a break, I'm Old
But when you play a with them for 20+ years, you assume the bracers will still be there

for the record NLF, i believe such a device as you have described (the gurney being pulled behind a horse) would be called a travois =P
I had initially considered that, but figured that it was probably not the best way to transport an injured person... but so long as kess and his fictional heal skill thinks the assassin will survive long enough to make it to his trial, i'm not gonna argue anyways... i guess there isn't really any rule covering transportation of injured people, so it's GM discretion anyways =P

Yes, that's it! Thank you. I wracked my brain for quite a while trying to come up that!

Yeah, I know. But when weighed with carrying a stetcher between horses moving at constantly varying speeds and heights I'm not sure that would be any better. In the end ... as the GM I was just interested in getting from point A to point B. In a fictional world (and in a cut-scene especially), we can say that it happened. That's what suspention of disbelief is all about, right?

i wasn't suggesting we suspent the stretcher between 2 horses... in fact, i'm gonna have to agree with you on the "how could that possibly even work out" route....

Well, Shahab was the last person to speak. Nobody else has picked up the conversation.
As for DM interaction, since nobody has stated a clear action, I can't go that route. And I'mnot about to interrupt a conversation that was going on, either. So ... I'm kinda out of options.
For the record, though, all the other threads have been really slow all the last few days, too. It's like we've entered into a period of anti-gaming. Maybe were on an episode of The Twilight Zone or soething....

Yeah, I'm waiting on Kizzt's response about the extra colonists Shahab has asked about that were missing when they returned, as that will pretty much decide how he plans to proceed with the perimeter search/scouting.
Of course I could just cut that part of my post and go with Braacha, Trella, and Finn (if he wants to come), though even if I do that we've still got to wait for Kizzt's report of what happened while we were gone, before they head off to scout. Although Shahab would still like to know where the rest of the people he asked about are, even if they're otherwise occupied and he can't use them for scouting.

Hiya guys! All of this is my fault, essentially because me and the family got hit with the stomach flu last Thursday. Because of this, I simply forgot about my pending reply due to alot of other things occupying my mind.
I'm writing a reply right now. Hope you can excuse my behavior.
